Patsy Kraemer - Jeff has an impressive career background in human services
When Jim Marzilli was our state representative and I was working social services in Arlington, I had many an occasion to call on Jim’s help. I would call Jim to seek help on behalf of Arlington residents when they needed an intervention with a department at the state level — the Department of Education, the Department of Social Services, the Department of Mental Health. These residents often were in dire straits, struggling with poverty issues, struggling with education issues, struggling with mental health issues. And they had not been able to get the help or the information they needed.
Jim was a master at intervening with the state system, getting people to respond to us and getting us the information we needed.
Jeff Thielman will do that too. He has a most impressive career background in human services. He has had experience both internationally and locally in social service work. He is most familiar with the education system at all levels given his work as a School Committee member.
Because of this experience, he understands the issues of poverty, mental illness, family struggles and special education. He understands the frustrations people experience when they do not receive the help and information they need.
One of his campaign goals is to bring compassion to the state budget and legislative process. I know he’ll give us the same masterful responsiveness that we’re accustomed to.
I urge you to vote for him as our next state representative. We will be in good hands.
