Letters to the Editor January17th Charlie Foskett -- consistent leader dedicated to Arlington Jeff Thielman has long demonstrated his commitment to the public good in Arlington. He worked hard to support the Friends of Spy Pond Park in their efforts to upgrade Spy Pond Park’s infrastructure. As a Town Meeting member he has worked for efficient, fair government for residents of all ages and from all neighborhoods. As a School Committee member, Jeff has worked hard for strong educational standards, budget planning, organizational efficiency and innovation in Arlington schools. As co-chair of the 2005 Yes for Arlington campaign, Jeff was instrumental in creating a long-term stable financial environment for Arlington. He encouraged fiscal discipline at the school department, which since has successfully adhered to the requirements of Arlington’s five-year budget plan. I have worked with Jeff in all of these activities. In these sometimes intense interactions, I always observed an energetic leader with courage, vision and a strong moral compass who has been consistent in his dedication to Arlington. I hope you will join me in voting for Jeff as our state representative on February 5. Charlie Foskett
