Joe Curro -- Jeff exhibits dedication
A vivid memory from my youth is of the high standard for public service set by my local congressman in holding annual public meetings in every single town in his district, without regard to the election cycle or the difficulty of reaching some isolated communities.
We have in Arlington a public servant who exhibits similar dedication day in and day out. I am proud to support Jeff Thielman's candidacy to represent parts of Arlington and West Medford on Beacon Hill as our state representative.
I have known Jeff for several years as a fellow Town Meeting member, but I first met him at an informal gathering at the home of a friend where we discussed school issues. Since that time, I have welcomed Jeff into my own home to meet with fellow parents, and I have learned that Jeff regularly holds such small forums around the town to listen to people's concerns and offer his own perspectives. In such situations, Jeff inevitably has a notebook at the ready, and he eagerly and attentively absorbs the ideas and thoughts of everyone in the room.
In addition to being very open and ready to listen to constituents, I have found Jeff to be extremely responsive. Whenever I have contacted him on behalf of the Arlington Human Rights Commission or on any other matter, Jeff has promptly returned phone calls or messages and he has shown a real willingness to tackle problems head on. Jeff follows through on his commitments, and his emails often bear timestamps from late hours that serve only to underscore his work ethic.
Jeff has served on the school committee for nearly five years, has worked professionally to build schools throughout the country, and devoted several years of his life in service to less fortunate communities in Latin America.
As a state representative, Jeff Thielman would bring experience, responsiveness and dedication to the State House, and I believe Arlington and West Medford would be well served by his election.
Joseph A. Curro, Jr.
