Jeff's Positions on Key Issues Please read the information below to learn about Jeff Thielman’s positions on important issues that will be addressed by your next State Representative: (use the links to the left to see different issues) Stem cell research has the potential to develop new treatments for many serious illnesses including diabetes, Parkinson’s disease, and heart disease. President Bush has vetoed bills that would expand embryonic stem cell research, and leadership on this issue is critical at the state level. Embryonic cells s hould be available for research if they are not wanted by those that created them. By providing support for research and development, the state can generate new jobs and will ensure that research is conducted ethically. I support Governor Deval Patrick’s $1.25 billion Life Sciences bill, which will fund research that is no longer financed by the federal government, create a centralized stem cell bank, establish life science fellowship grants, and establish research facilities Please help our campaign with an online contribution!
