We are very enthusiastic about the candidacy of Jeff Thielman who is running for re-election for the Arlington School Committee.

Our connection to the school system goes back several decades when we moved to Arlington and our daughter entered the 5th grade. Time moves on and today two of our grandchildren are students in the school system.

So we have a keen interest in the quality of education and this brings us to the point of this letter: Jeff Thielman has the experience and passion to work for the best that is possible for our children.

Jeff has the commitment and energy that makes a difference. We have seen him in action, willing to hear all points of view.

During the last negotiations he represented the School Committee and he provided strong leadership in moving the process along — which resulted in a contract that was seen by all sides as exemplary.

Another and a most important qualification to mention in this period of financial constriction is his hands on experience with school budgets. Jeff’s day job is in education, working with a diverse sector of urban schools across the country. We feel that he is highly qualified and knowledgeable candidate.
